Strong Consensus on the Need for Greater Diversity in the Cannabis Industry

• Nearly 3 out of 4 (74%) respondents to the 2017 New Frontier/Women Grow Diversity in Cannabis survey agreed that cannabis businesses should establish targets to encourage greater racial and sexual diversity throughout the industry.
• More than 6 out of 10 (62%) believed that state regulators ought prioritize diversity among prospective operators before issuing business licenses.
• Virtually the same amount (61%) felt that members of minority groups encounter more difficulty participating in the industry than do those of non-minority groups.
