Due to the cash nature of the marijuana industry, there has been a concern that commercialization of medical and adult use marijuana would lead to an increase in marijuana related crimes. However, analysis of criminal activity in the Denver area shows that these fears have not yet materialized. Despite rapid market growth, burglaries have declined slightly and robberies have remained low. There has been a slight increase in other crimes, including larcenies.
