According to the Nevada Division of Public and Behavioral Health, of the 199 medical marijuana dispensary applications submitted, only 55 (28%) were approved.
Two jurisdictions within Clark County – Las Vegas and unincorporated Clark County – between them issued 30 licenses of 55% of the total.
The high concentration of dispensaries in Las Vegas could make the city an important medical marijuana tourist attraction as Nevada recognizes medical marijuana permits issued in other states.
