Women are significantly less likely to participate in medical marijuana programs than men, according to data from various state medical marijuana program patient participation statistics.

Women account for approximately half of the U.S. population, but only represent one-quarter of the medical marijuana patients in Arizona, and approximately one-third of the patients in Oregon, Washington, D.C., and Colorado.

This gender gap represents a significant opportunity to engage and educate women on the therapeutic benefits of medical marijuana, especially as they relate to conditions that are more prevalent among women.
